The Best Flower Tips, Straight from a Professional Florist
My customers frequently ask, “Eduardo, it’s been two weeks and my flowers are still fresh! What’s the secret?”
It may seem like allot of work, but I purchase flowers 5 or 6 times a week from a local flower market. I know which wholesalers have the freshest flowers and make sure my customers always get the best!
Here are some tips:
1.) Use a clean vase. If you use the same vase repeatedly for fresh flowers, it’s important to wash the vase with (soap and water) between bouquets. That way it will keep out bacteria which is not good for flowers.
2.) Remove any foliage below the water line. Just the stems in the water. It’s important to keep foliage out the water since it causes bacteria growth which is not good.
3.) Keep the water in the vase fresh. Change the water out daily. Try to add flower food (the little packets that come with your order). The sugary formula feeds your flowers and keeps them “Divine” longer!
